Good Food Ireland Food Shop of the Year 2013/14
Welcome to Urru. We are now well into the weather season called the "Scaraveen" which refers to the contrasting weathers that come and go across mid April - mid May. It also influences what is called the "Hunger Gap" when winter fresh produce is running low and spring/ summer produce is not yet ready to harvest. However there is no hunger gap here as we always have lots of edibles for you to savour! See some of them here.
There will soon be a wave of young, enthusiastic people looking for summer jobs in cafes and shops around West Cork. This brings a bit of a conundrum for employers and job seekers to navigate: Small businesses do need staff but are limited in their resources and time to train short-term employees; on the other hand, how do first time job seekers stand out from the crowd and demonstrate to a potential employer that they will make a positive contribution to the business from the moment they start?
To fill this “experience” gap Urru will be running a training course across the Spring/ early Summer (repeated during the last week of each month) called “A Beginners Guide to Working with Food, Coffee and Customers”. You can get details & book it here.
We love to wow you by creating food hampers that look beautiful and give a memorable taste of Ireland. Our hampers are tailored throughout the year to reflect the seasons and special occasions.
If you like what you see, but its not quite what you want, just give us a call or send us an e-mail and we'll personalise your hamper to your own particular specifications.
