A Taste of West Cork Food Festival: Rare Cookery Books Workshop, Saturday 8 September, 4pm


Join us again this year for a convivial and engaging afternoon of cookery book discussion. This year we will turn our attention to "The Books of Ballymaloe" and in particular Myrtle Allen and her peers.

Our guest speaker will be renowned food historian Regina Sexton. We will consider Myrtle Allen's writings, her contribution to and leadership on, shaping modern Irish cuisine. We will also look at the contributions of writers like Biddy White Lennon, Carla Blake and others amongst their peers.

Bring the books you treasure and any related stories you would like to share. And remember that rare doesn't always mean old.

A light tapas-style West Cork afternoon tea will be served as you share, talk or just listen with other cookery book enthusiasts and our expert guest.
