Proud to be Irish – One of Ireland’s Iconic Artisan Producers, Declan Ryan of Arbutus Breads, & Urru Culinary Store are teaming up to bring the Celebration of St. Patrick’s Day to Bandon on Thursday 17 March in a novel way. For the first time Urru will open on St. Patrick’s Day (10am – 5pm) and Declan Ryan will create a spectacular display of traditional and speciality breads that will be given FREE to shoppers on the day (minimum purchase €5). There will be hundreds of loaves available.

Urru kicked off the series of 2011 Bonanza Days with bang at the end of January with the two-day only ½ Price Kitchenwares Sale creating a huge buzz and energy with people travelling from all over Cork. It was like the old shopping days with ladies laden down with bags, all chatting and comparing finds and calling friends.

| Baking Competition Winners |
There was a fantastic response to the annual Urru festive baking competition and the stunning entries serve as a timely reminder of what is really of value in our lives – as long as we can eat, drink and be merry with family and friends – then life is good.
The judges – Clare Nash of Nash 19 and Dianne Curtin, Food Writer – were over whelmed by the standard of baking and the technical skills displayed as well as the imagination.
